Frustrated Dealing with Stuff?

You've been asked to serve as trustee - you can handle decisions about finances, deal with realtors, appraisers, attorneys, accountants and auctioneers - but can you deal with the STUFF?

If your parent or loved one lived through the depression-era, there may be a strong likelihood that they are a saver of STUFF - things that appears mildly useful in a normal quantity for younger folks, but kept squirrelled away like treasures by our loved ones because they might need them someday.

Helping your loved one part with treasures like these can be very difficult, especially when downsizing for a move to an apartment or assisted living facility - or even to move in with a family member.

Consider donating useful items to a charitable organization - which might be easier for Mom or Dad to accept than simply throwing them away. Try visiting the Goodwill Industries International website for an online Goodwill locator and unique ideas for disposing of useful items. Or, consider hiring an estate organizer to take care of the details for you.
